Donald worked with us to develop a new website design that would work responsively across all platforms and improve our customers experience. He delivered his UX research outcomes to us clearly, listened to our feedback and used all his findings to design a website that was both visually pleasing and intuitive to the user. Donald consistently delivered to deadline with designs that needed very little rework and we are absolutely delighted with our new website and the great response it’s had from customers.
Emily Bates, Managing Director, Celtic & Co

Asked by Cornish based boots and clothing vendor ‘Celtic & Co’ to redesign their website and ancillary email marketing templates. Celtic & Co had an existing site that was functioning well with good conversion rates however the site didn’t adequately reflect the brand or product styles and was difficult to use on tablet and mobile platforms. The re-design needed to reflect the company’s strong Cornish identity and their British design and manufacturing ethos without risk of alienating the company’s existing, large and loyal customer base.

UX Research and Analysis.

Working closely with the client at the initial planning stage, a web site review including Stakeholder interviews and SEO analysis was carried out to understand Celtic & Co’s business, customers and brand expectations.

Discovery / Task Analysis sessions were carried with existing and non C&Co customers using a selection of competitors web sites to compare and contrast brand use online and help identify key strengths and weaknesses of the current web site in relation to competitors.

Test reports were compiled into interactive, on-line presentations and included audio and video of users screen interactions and comments whilst navigating the web sites.

I.A. Design

A series of detailed, interactive wireframes were produced in conjunction with full mock-ups of key pages which were then A/B tested and validated by existing and none C&Co customers at several points throughout the process.

Visual Design - Web

Two initial visual design routes were explored and after UX testing with a group of users to validate the design approaches, the design was finalised and coded into fully responsive templates using the Bootstrap framework. The templates were delivered to the company’s technology partners to integrate with the bespoke e-commerce CMS.

Visual Design - Email

Finally, a series of 8 responsive email templates were designed and built for use alongside the web site.
